The impact of the high space-temporal variability wind field during moderate and intense storm stages a tropical cyclone on wave as computed by numerical model WaveWatch III is investigated in this work. realistic fields are generated high-resolution implementation HWRF Gulf Mexico stored over 15 min intervals. spatial structure highly variable space time, although its mean very similar to that described for parametric hurricanes already specified previous studies. resulting storm-generated have persistent structure, with maxima present forward quadrants rear quadrant II. This determined strong winds extended fetch condition I II, well translation speed storm. When shorter time interval analyzed (e.g., 3 h period, when becomes category 1 hurricane), may differ greatly from calculated sufficiently longer period; however, distribution around hurricane tends maintain typical structure. use reduced moving average) does not change field, but reduces height values up 10%.
